Community Support Programs

WE BELIEVE EVERY INDIVIDUAL SHOULD BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITY BY HAVING REASONABLE ACCESS TO NEEDED SERVICES.

Lake Pointe Resource Center offers a variety of ways to serve the multi-dimensional aspects of living on the spectrum. Our goal is to bring and maintain needed services to our community and bridge a gap towards resilience, hope and life long success for children and families affected by autism and related developmental conditions. When our families have to drive to the DFW area for services, it causes financial hardships, or lack of access when parents have to choose between their jobs or getting their children to specialized intervention programs..

  • PEERS® Certified Provider for Social Skills - The UCLA Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relationship Skills (PEERS) is a manualized, social skills training intervention for adolescents and young adults. It has a strong evidence-base for use with teens and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, but is also appropriate for teens and young adults with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other socioemotional problems.

  • Parent support and networking groups - coffee and conversations! YOU are not alone!

  • Respite Nights (parent night out) - approximately 4 times a year we will host a opportunity for parents to get out without the kids. Finding qualified sitters can be difficult, leading to burnout and excessive stress.

  • Social services and advocacy - (referrals for needed resources navigating special education, medical, social, legal and entitlement benefits)

  • Community Partnerships - consultations and speaking presentations, encouraging and networking training for successful integration and vocational opportunities

  • Fundraising Events - Sponsorships and individual donors make what we do possible. We strive to provide support for financially vulnerable parents/caregivers, such as single mothers, first responders, and families with multiple children with special needs to access therapy and individualized education services through scholarships and sliding scale fees.

Lake Pointe Resource Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization comprised of parents and professionals focused on community outreach and education. Together we are reaching other families with children affected by autism and related neuro-developmental conditions to lead the way in bridging a network of support and evidence -based educational and therapeutic services within our own community.

You are Needed!

Together, we can do what we could never do alone. Our Donors and Volunteers make all this possible!
